ABOUT DARTMOOR
Dartmoor
is the largest area of wild country and moorland in the south of
England ,and where granite is the predominant rock, creating intriguing
formations, such as Tors. Dartmoor has been inhabited for thousands
of years. The remains of many generations of ancient civilizations
are scattered all around, in the form of weathered stone circles&rows,
burial sites, hut circles, clapper bridges, stone crosses and impressive
standing stones. The evidence is set amidst a stunning landscape.
Magnificent Tors rise up from the high moorland, and Dartmoor ponies
run wild, ancient woods, streams and flora are all here to be explored,
as well as all those chilling ghostie stories!
Dartmoor
covers nearly 400sq miles of Devon so it is quite difficult to miss
!! And it is well worth your visit.
